Turkey offers several scholarship opportunities for international students beyond the well-known Turkiye Scholarships (Türkiye Bursları). While Türkiye Bursları remains the most comprehensive fully funded government scholarship — covering tuition fees, accommodation, health insurance, and a monthly stipend — there are other national and institutional funding options available, particularly for postgraduate and research students.

The Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), which manages Türkiye Bursları, also offers additional programs such as Success Scholarships for students already studying in Turkey and research scholarships for short-term academic projects. These programs are competitive and usually merit-based, targeting high-performing students at the master’s and PhD levels.

For research-focused students, TUBITAK provides funding opportunities mainly for master’s thesis students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers involved in scientific and technological research. These scholarships are project-based and are more suitable for students pursuing careers in academia or research fields.

In addition to government-funded schemes, most private universities in Turkey offer their own merit-based and partial tuition scholarships. These typically range from 25% to 75% tuition fee discounts and are awarded based on academic performance, early application, or institutional partnerships. While fully funded national-level scholarships are limited and highly competitive, partial university scholarships combined with Turkey’s relatively affordable tuition structure make studying in Turkey financially accessible for many Pakistani students.
